I interviewed Leslie Koh, an Associate Financial Services Manager at Prudential Assurance Company Singapore.
He has a strong online presence that’s why I decided to interview to him.
Here are some practical tips for content creation:
𝟭. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Selfless content doesn’t include a sales pitch in it.
No matter how good a content is, if you are trying to sell something, it becomes tainted.
Sharing your values to your audience is a great way to create selfless content.
When others see that you share the same values, it can resonate you better and that’s how you build your online credibility.
𝟮. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲.
Identify the common questions from your clients and prospects.
Find out the questions that your audience are asking on Facebook groups.
Create content out of these questions.
It adds value by helping them learn something new or understand things they didn’t understand before.
It gives you more credibility too.
𝟯. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆.
Creating content is a long game strategy. It is different from closing in sales.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t get a lot of engagement for every post.
Create content consistently no matter how many likes, shares, or comments you get.
What matters is that you are creating valuable content on a regular basis and you are also understanding how people consume your content.
It doesn’t mean if people don’t like, share, or comment your content, they don’t consume your content.
Most of the time, people come to me and say that I have great content and they thank me for it.
This makes more sense than getting a lot of engagement for content that’s not valuable to your audience.
You should appreciate the people who engage with you and build relationships out of it.
